Two of Australia’s favourite foods — Vegemite and Cadbury’s chocolate are coming together!

Cadbury Australia announced the partnership on its Twitter feed on Thursday afternoon.

The video declares: “Yes. It’s real. Yes. The rumours were true. Yes. It’s available on June 1st (although you may see it sooner). Yes. It’s surprisingly delicious.”

Cadbury has been searching for Australia’s favourite flavour combinations and encouraging users on social media to offer suggestions with the hashtag #ChocPlusWhat?

Cadbury has also been able to effectively incorporate social media interaction with its customers by offering them the chance to create their own flavour combinations through the hashtag which has been trending for weeks.  Screen Shot 2015-05-11 at 8.52.25 am

Stirring a controversial chocolate combination has captured the attention of a large number of Australians. Vegemite is an iconic Australian invention which will more than likely attract not only chocolate fans but will entice a large portion of Australians to try it, which will of course boom sales for cadbury.

  1. As creative as it is I don’t see it being too appealing. I’ve never thought of vegemite as a sweet treat or dessert.
    Caramel and vegemite?! Seems like a strange partnership.
    I can see it being a similar, almost fad game for people to play. Like those jellybeans that are either a really yummy flavour or something foul and you never know what you’re going to get!
